Over the past several decades, an ideological subversion has taken place in the West. The derelict remains of a Judaeo-Christian worldview, along with its values and principles, has been swept away from Western society, and replaced with a new religion. Yet, this new religion is quite secular in its expression.
Founded on cultural Marxism, it focuses on social justice, frames everything in a power struggle between oppressed and oppressors, but sadly, it offers no redemption to anyone and is totalitarian in nature. Out of this new secular religion flows cancel culture, gender confusion, social division and even rioting. The aim of this cult is the complete dissolution of western civilization.
Chances are that you’ve found yourself in conversations, either in person or on social media, discussing racism, identity and privilege. These are important issues in our society, but without a biblical framework these issues are often misunderstood, and misdiagnosed. In an insidious fashion, the Cult of Woke uses terms that we as Christ followers are deeply concerned about (i.e. justice, racism, identity, partiality) but reinterprets them in a secular/Marxist framework, not a biblical one. This has led to many Christians unwittingly adopting this pagan ideology.
So how do we as Average Saints understand these terms (racism, identity, privilege) through the lens of Scripture? How does the gospel inform our understanding? What is a faithful response to the false gospel of the cult of woke?
